Claire has worked in the sports sector for all her career and prior to joining Jersey Sport, Claire worked at Sport England for over 12 years in various roles driving participation and tackling the inequalities which exist in sport and physical activity participation. Claire brings a wealth of experience within the strategic development of sports policy and management of broad sport and physical activity partnerships. Prior to Sport England, Claire worked in local authority sport and community development, as well as leading a school sports partnership in South Bedfordshire. Claire is committed to ensuring that sport is available to all at their chosen level and has always enjoyed working with a broad range of partners across the sector.

Claire graduated from Loughborough University in 2001 with a BSc Hons in Sports Science and Physical Education. Since then, Claire has completed a variety of qualifications in leadership, coaching and project management.

Sport has always been a huge part of Claire’s life and continues to be with her young family. Gymnastics dominated her early years, representing Jersey in the Island Games and since then her love of being outdoors, swimming, running and cycling (triathlon)…. Or just being active with the family takes priority!
