The Jersey Bat Group and Bat Conservation Trust are looking for a post-grad student or intern to develop a call library for Jersey species of bat.
It will be the responsibility of the individual(s) to identify roost sites, confirm ID through DNA and/or in hand identification, observe commuting routes to and from the roost sit and collect search phase echolocation recordings of known species on identified commuting routes, where possible
Call libraries provide reference calls for the development of automated classifiers to facilitate large scale acoustic monitoring projects, test classifier performance and serve as a reference material for education.
