Francis Binney

Francis has built a career around conservation and sustainability spanning a quarter century. Trained as a Marine and Freshwater Biologist in the early 2000s Francis has worked in Indonesia and Sri Lanka as well as here in Jersey on conservation, fisheries livelihood and sustainability projects.

Currently Francis works in the Government’s Natural Environment team heading up the Marine Resources section looking to balance ecological and economic needs within Jersey’s territorial seas. Francis is Chair of the Jersey Cider Orchard trust, a Research Fellow At JICAS and has served on various charitable boards since returning to Jersey. When working overseas Francis was regularly involved with grant applications and so has experience on both sides of the coin.
