Job Title: Grants and Relationship Manager
Hours: Part time, 21 hours per week
Reports to: Head of Impacts & Programmes
Line reports: None
Place of Work: Our staff are currently working from home. We do envisage obtaining office space in 2026, but candidates will need to be happy to work from home initially.
Holiday entitlement: 25 days holiday per annum (pro-rated), in addition to public holidays
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 (pro-rated) depending on experience

Role Purpose:
The Grants and Relationship Manager will be responsible for managing a portfolio of grant making programmes, supporting both donors and local community organisations. This role requires someone proactive, enthusiastic, and passionate about making a difference.
The post-holder will ensure that the needs of our donors are met through timely, effective and high-quality grant-making, and that the Foundation continues to grow as a hub for local philanthropy. They will work closely with colleagues across Grants, Impact and Operations to deliver and develop grant programmes, share learning, and support donor engagement and retention.
The Ideal Candidate:
With excellent attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills and a ‘can do’ approach the successful candidate will be highly organised. An ability to work with a range of grantees, donors and other stakeholders, with strong analytical and communication skills, will ensure that funds are efficiently and effectively directed to those most in need in Jersey.

Key Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end grants process, including:
o Reviewing applications and assessing eligibility
o Coordinating panel meetings and making recommendations
o Monitoring and reporting on funded projects
Build and maintain strong relationships with donors, applicants, and community partners.
Provide guidance and support to applicants, ensuring they understand the Foundation’s processes and expectations.
Support the development of applicant proposals in line with donor interests and funding priorities.
Ensure that grants made on behalf of donors are delivered efficiently and aligned with fund criteria.
Support the design and planning of new funds and programmes in partnership with colleagues and donors.
Ensure timely and accurate record-keeping and reporting for all grant-making activities.
Support the Foundation’s wider objectives, including outreach, community engagement, and donor stewardship.
Insight, Impact and Learning
Support the development of informative, engaging reports for donors and other stakeholders, drawing on data and stories from funded work.
Support the development and sharing of insight, learning and trends from grant programmes to inform internal strategy and external communications.
Create and implement tailored stewardship and donor engagement plans, working closely with the CEO to secure repeat gifts and uplift existing support.
Coordinate events, visits and opportunities for donors to connect with the community organisations they support.
General
Work in accordance with the values, policies and procedures of JCF, especially GDPR, Confidentiality and Equal Opportunities
Attend training and other personal development events as required
Carry out other duties appropriate to the role and responsibilities as may be delegated by the Chief Executive Officer
Person Specification
Experience in grant management, fundraising, or community development (desirable but not essential if the candidate has transferable skills)
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects independently
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to work with a wide range of stakeholders
Proactive and self-motivated, able to work effectively from home and take initiative
Passionate about community development and philanthropy
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism
Able to critically assess information and summarise accurately (essential)
Understand and interpret budgets and simple accounts
Access to a car with a driving licence
Ability to occasionally work evenings
Entitled for Work status in Jersey
Desirable Experience Includes:
Experience of working with databases
Understanding of the voluntary and community sector in Jersey
Experience of working from home or remote working
Understanding of good governance
